Reaction Paper: Shrek The Musical

A remarkable show that might be one of the finest among others. Shrek The Musical has something that would make you love it. The Musical’s wonderful songs, great actors, amazing production, and its undying story are incredible. The show is full-packed and you wouldn’t get over it instantly. Watching a world-class performance is overwhelming, plus the spectacular production that’s awe-inspiring. The show gave painstakingly justice to its origin and it really gives the whole idea of what “Shrek” is all about; what friendship really means, how freedom and discrimination are depicted, and what true love truly meant.
Shrek The Musical has very talented artists. The artists can dance, sing, and act; of course, they are artists after all. There’s one thing I have observed and made me more astounded, the live orchestra under the stage who gives a more valuable asset to the play. They really played a significant role in the play. The stage, platforms, and props used in the play are extremely fantastic. I was awed when I witnessed a part of the stage moved. It added a major interest to the show itself. I didn’t expect that I could see a production like that. It was my first time to witness a live show that’s somehow impeccable. They really did a terrific job on the whole set. What can I say about the actors? They are all fantastic actors, dancers, and singers; all in one. No one’s better than anyone. They are all the best! The main cast acted like as if they live like their character, as well as the other cast such as the fairy tale creatures, Duloc dancers, and Farquad’s Knight. It seems that they’re all professionals. Overall, the show is great and I guess I can’t get over it till now.
The story deals with a message that is very essential for the audience to learn. Shrek and Donkey have a completely different personality and yet they learned to accept each other despite of their insignificant differences.  They are both unlikely creatures in only one world and they had met in an infrequent occurrence. These two shows what friendship truly means. It is how you would deal with the irritating traits of the other while enjoying his company. It is about how you would work together to be able to surpass the obstacles you’re facing. And it is also about keeping each other together because, without the other, a part of you would be lost. On the other hand, Shrek and Fiona had the strangest way of meeting each other. The place where they have met is not quite ideal, a tower guarded by a dragon and surrounded by hot-boiling lava. Shrek was only on a quest to rescue her and it is not stated in the job description to be her true love. Love happens. Despite their flaws, they learned to accept those and to love it. They learned to understand the differences in their way of life. They showed that love is not perfect, that it is flawed and imperfect. Love isn’t measured by the deceiving looks, the irrational reason and excuses, and several unusual differences and similarities. It is measured by how strong your love is, of what things you could do for the other, and how far you are willing to take to fight for her.    It is about believing that true love exists, even among beings who don’t believe.
